About Vision TERUDO

Vision TERUDO is an Indigenous NGO established in 1982, incorporated on 11th August 1983 and fully registered with NGO Bureau under the registration number 3357. It’s currently mandated to operate in the whole country but for a long time was operating in Eastern Uganda in the districts of Bukedea, Kumi, Ngora, Serere, Soroti, Kaberamaido, Kalaki, Amuria, Kapelebyong, and Katakwi.

The ultimate Goal of Vision TERUDO is to improve the quality of life of the rural poor and marginalised population in Teso sub-region. Our mission is to empower the people of Teso through education and capacity building so that they enjoy their Fundamental economic, social, political Civic and cultural rights. We cherish Self-drive, empowerment, respect, partnership, efficiency, effectiveness, Transparency and accountability as core values that guide our daily work.

 

Governance, Leadership Staffing, and Competence

The organisation has a well-established governance structure comprised of the Board of Trustees and Board of the Directors with eminent persons with vast experience in Leadership and Administration and the Secretariat. The BoT is headed by Dr. Akabway Stephen Besweri, a former Chair Electoral commission, Commissioner Uganda Revenue Authority with over forty years of experience in Leadership and Administration. The BoD is headed by Rt. Dr Bishop Charles Bernard-Ebitu Obaikol of Church of Uganda Soroti Diocese with over 30yrs of experience in pastoral and development work. The Secretariat is headed by Executive Director with 19 years of experience in Programme work and financial management.
