Over the last three decades, the community systems and extended family values in Uganda have broken down as a result of several factors such as HIV and AIDS epidemic, civil strife, conflicts, prevalent poverty and the negative effects of globalization. This has resulted into increased poor parenting skills child abuse and neglect by parents, moral decadence, drug and alcohol abuse as well as increased abusive behavior among children.

In the next five years Vision TERUDO will put more energies in community education on Parenting skills, Human rights and environmental issues. Women are still amongst the most vulnerable in selected intervention areas with low education attainment, discriminated at the household level, suffer gender-based domestic violence, are mostly involved in caring for children. Vision TERUDO targets women by providing access to finance and financial services to start and grow small businesses and increase their incomes through community managed savings and credit groups in all regions and we also target Increased food production among target communities.
