We undertake interventions in agriculture, education and health, with integration of climate change, environment, gender inclusion and human rights into the programing for sustenance of the interventions. We organized literacy classes in makeshift shelters, empowering women to reclaim their voices. When the shadow of AIDS dropped on the face of Uganda, a new and silent war had been waged against the people and Vision TERUDO launched a behavior change campaigns, supporting orphaned children and refused to let the vulnerable be forgotten.
But as the political landscape shifted from 1986, bringing a fragile new era, Vision TERUDO remained steadfast, navigating the complexities of renewed conflicts, challenges of structural adjustment and relentless struggle for resources.
It is our core motivation, however, born from the suffering witnessed, never wavering and its what we have since set out to be, the story of an organization with a passion to empower communities to fight hunger, poverty and injustices.
Over the decades, Vision TERUDO has grown, her roots deepening into the very fabric of the country, building wells where there was only thirst, establishing community-led savings groups where there were only debts and facilitating peace dialogues where there was only discord.
Our holistic approach, envisions a healthy society free from hunger, poverty and injustice, a monumental undertaking in a Uganda scarred by so much.
Now, stretching out our wings to the far and wide of Uganda, it’s just a breathing reality for countless families and the story of these communities is not just one of survival against the odds anymore but of an enduring, active hope born from the deepest valleys of human suffering and tirelessly working towards a future where every Ugandan can live with dignity, justice and peace.
