Strengthening governance and leadership of the BoD to demonstrate improvements in oversight, decision-making, and strategic leadership.
- Revamped the Board of Directors by adding members with expertise in Programing enhancing strategic guidance and oversight and reduced BoD number from 11 to 7 for efficiency and effectiveness BoD delivery.
- Developed a BoD charted defining clear roles, risk management procedures, and performance evaluations for senior leadership and implemented this governance policy.
- Developed 7 Polices and revied 5 in line with required country laws to make sure the organization is compliant in all aspects.
Human resources and staff development
- Increased staff capacity by 20% across key departments, including monitoring and evaluation, program management, and finance.
- Revied staff appraisal form and introduced a staff development plan with ongoing training in safeguarding, gender mainstreaming, and project cycle management.
- Launched an internship and mentorship program to build a pipeline of young professionals from target communities.
Systems, tools, and operational efficiency.
- During this period, we focused on improvements in technology, processes and infrastructure that make us more effective.
- Upgraded our financial management systems to ensure transparency and real-time tracking of donor funds.
- Adopted new innovation of Business on Line Banking accurate accountability timing reporting and this has cut our risk of cash transaction m handling by 95%.
Partnerships and resource mobilization
- Created a resource mobilization strategy that resulted in a 2% increase in unrestricted income.
- Secured multi-year funding from two new donors through improved donor engagement.
Learning, adaptation, and organizational culture fostering a strong mission-driven culture
- Held annual reflection and learning workshops across with the BoD, staff departments, contributing to program redesign and adaptive management.
- Trained BoD and staff on climate Justice a new concept Vision TERUDO wants to integrate in our organization programming.
