Governance, systems and partnership strengthening

We are deliberate on initiatives aimed at enhancing the capacity of Vision TERUDO to effectively contribute to national development by developing sound policies, improving systems, procedures and overall organizational abilities to effectively govern itself, have skilled staff, monitoring and evaluation tools and deliver quality programs and impact. In the Coming five years, we focus on, developing internal systems, structures, and skills to enhance effectiveness and sustainability in the next five years, our focus is expanding partnerships and maintaining strong relationships are vital for our growth, sustainability, and impact.

Strategic Alignment

Agriculture, Food Security and Livelihoods – SDG 2
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Acute Food Insecurity and Acute Malnutrition Analysis of 12th June 2024 revealed that 45% of the population People facing high acute food insecurity. The same analysis revealed that 112,270 children of 6-59 months were acutely malnourished.

Community Empowerment – SDG 10
According to recent data from Uganda’s 2023 Police Crime Report, statistics on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) show that a significant portion of women experience violence, with figures including 36% of women experiencing intimate partner sexual violence, 45% facing physical violence, and 55% enduring economic or emotional abuse; additionally, the report documented over 15,000 cases of domestic violence, with a majority of victims being female adults.

Education – SDG 4
The quality and efficiency of primary education in Uganda have raised concerns, as highlighted in the country’s National Development Plan (NDP) III 2020/21-2024/25. The plan cites low literacy rates (49.9% at P.3, and 53.1% at P.6), low numeracy rates (55.2% at P.3, and 50.9% at P.6), and low completion rates in the primary at 38% in 2018 due to high drop-out.

Health Promotion – SDG 3
According to the National Water Supply Atlas February 2025, access to water in Uganda varies from 25% in Rakai district to 95% in Lamwo district and has 146,286 domestic water points which serve a total of 30,907,667 people, and 24,427,561 in rural areas.
Additional 5,312 sources have been non-functional for more than 5 years and considered abandoned. Uganda has 1,211 piped schemes. A total of 81% of the population lack reliable water access as clean water access for 2022 was 18.68%, a 0.98% increase from 2021.

Priority Area 5: Institutional Strengthening SDG 10
We are deliberate about Internal strength and capacity through partnerships. Ugandan NGOs have remained weak and reduced from 14,000 in early 2010 to just 5,000 as of early 2020 with the government closing over 9,000 over lack of compliance.
